The Procedure

Get Your Natural Look Back

Loss of skin elasticity, gravity, and factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breastfeeding ultimately affect the shape and firmness of the breasts. Patients who are generally satisfied with their size can have a breast lift to raise and firm them for a more youthful contour.

Some patients have also lost a significant amount of breast volume over time. In those cases, implants placed together with a lift can restore size at the same time the shape and position of the breasts are improved.

Common Questions

Breast Lift, Answered

Am I a good candidate for a breast lift?

You may be, if your breasts are pendulous but of a satisfactory size, or if they lack substance or firmness. Dr. Carlin will help you decide whether a lift alone, or a lift with an implant, best fits your goals.

Can a lift be combined with implants?

Yes. When volume has been lost, implants placed at the same time as the lift can restore fullness while the shape and position of the breasts are improved.

Where is the surgery performed?

In our own private surgery center at the practice in West Columbia — not a hospital. The same team you meet at your consultation cares for you on the day of surgery and through recovery.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Carlin Plastic Surgery does not accept insurance. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and CareCredit financing.

What are your office hours?

Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is closed on Friday. After hours, surgical patients can reach Dr. Carlin through our answering service. Directions and contact details.

What happens at a first visit?

Every consultation is with Dr. Carlin himself. What to expect as a new patient, and what our patients say about the experience.
